Finance Concentration Objective The purpose of the Finance concentration is to meet the demand by MBA students and employers for specialized education in finance. This specialization offers a detailed knowledge of the principles and techniques of financial decision-making, valuation, and capital markets. The concentration emphasizes analytical, computational and managerial skills for financial problems faced by decision makers. Description In addition to the core requirements, the concentration requires MGF 633 and four elective courses from accounting, finance or law. Career Opportunities Opportunities are present for finance concentration graduates in corporate environments, including positions in financial analysis, financial planning and control, and asset-liability management. In financial intermediaries, including banks, mutual funds, pension funds, insurance companies, security brokers and dealers, opportunities are available for security analysts, trust advisors, portfolio managers, bank loan officers, and account executives. Consulting firms provide growing job opportunities. Additionally, government agencies offer many employment opportunities similar to those in the private sector.
